Clive Lees

Chair of Directors,
The Spring Partnership Trust

Clive Lees started his career in banking and Chartered Accountancy and more recently has been a counsellor for young children, especially those who cannot access mainstream schools. He has been associated with Spring Partnership since 2009, having started as a volunteer. Clive has been a governor since 2012 and Chair of TSPT since September 2015 and instrumental in the Trust growing to 6 schools. He is also a Member of TSPT and of Wandle Learning Trust, a MAT in Wandsworth. Clive is particularly interested in developing outstanding governance and in his spare time he is interested in supporting his local community.

  • Formulating a strategic vision to develop a MAT in order to support improvement in underperforming schools by sharing learning and guidance
  • Delivering an effective CEO focussed leadership structure, whilst supporting schools to retain their individual characters and specialisms
  • Centralising HR and finance functions and integrating IT systems across the trust to drive efficiency and value for money outcomes
  • Supporting dedicated peer to peer support, benchmarking and best practice sharing across the trust
  • Assessing the outcomes of the transition to a MAT in transforming outcomes for previously underperforming schools resulting in ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ ratings from Ofsted
