Jo Brinkley

CEO and Founder,
The Spring Partnership Trust

Jo graduated from the University of London with an honours degree in English literature and drama.  Her early career was spent in Human resources management as a leadership trainer,  becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.  Jo volunteered as a governor at her local primary school and subsequently trained to become a teacher.  She held a range of teaching and leadership roles before becoming  a Headteacher in 2009.  In 2014, her school became an academy sponsor and Jo founded The Spring Partnership Trust which now includes 6 local primary schools.   Jo is also a Lead Ofsted inspector and works with the London Region.

  • Formulating a strategic vision to develop a MAT in order to support improvement in underperforming schools by sharing learning and guidance
  • Delivering an effective CEO focussed leadership structure, whilst supporting schools to retain their individual characters and specialisms
  • Centralising HR and finance functions and integrating IT systems across the trust to drive efficiency and value for money outcomes
  • Supporting dedicated peer to peer support, benchmarking and best practice sharing across the trust
  • Assessing the outcomes of the transition to a MAT in transforming outcomes for previously underperforming schools resulting in ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ ratings from Ofsted
