Julia Skinner is a retired primary head teacher from Bristol. All her schools were in areas of social challenge. Since retiring she has been in a variety of governance roles across all phases including nursery, primary, secondary & PRU. In her role as trustee of a MAT she was chair of HR & held the school improvement brief. She is now supporting a SAT looking to grow & an established MAT looking to move to the next level of governance. Julia is the founder of 100 Word Challenge, a very popular online writing project for students across the world.

  • Sharing lessons in how boards of trustees have recruited high quality candidates and the implications it has had on decision making and independent scrutiny of an academy
